Dustin McGowan was once again impressive, touching 95-96 on the radar gun and helped the Jays cruise to another victory 6-3 over the Astro’s.  It will be nice when the Astro’s become a permanent AL opponent.  Read the full recap here.

The Blue Jays improved their Grapefruit League record to 11-2 with a 6-3 Grapefruit League win over the Astros on Thursday at Osceloa County Stadium.

Right-hander Dustin McGowan allowed just one unearned run in his three innings and has now pitched five innings with one unearned run this spring. Jordan Schafer led off with a walk and went to third when catcher Travis d’Arnaud’s pickoff attempt sailed into right field. He scored when Angel Sanchez grounded out.

The Blue Jays jumped on Astros starter Zach Duke for a pair of runs in each of the first two innings.

Up next: Left-hander Ricky Romero will be making his third Grapefruit League start when the Blue Jays return to Florida Auto Exchange Stadium for a 1:05 p.m. ET game against the Rays. Chad Jenkins, Jason Frasor and Drew Carpenter are also expected to get work. This could be the first time the Rays face former teammate Jose Molina, who signed with Tampa Bay as a free agent after last season.
